Imbolc 2012

As I was preparing to start my spinning session in my living-room I felt like a voice telling me to light the candle for Imbolc. I said “Now? Isn't it a bit early?”.
And the voice answered “Yes now!”
Forty minutes afterwards as I was cooling off doing some stretching I glanced at the candle and my thoughts obviously went again to Imbolc and how ironically enough I am finding it difficult to keep that inner light alight.
As if on cue, this picture a friend of mine shared on Facebook some time ago, came to my mind.

While I reread it with my mind's eye, I felt the Voice, chuckling, saying:

"Thank goodness the Universe knows no recession dear!"

I smiled.

The Universe has really strange ways to communicate and quite a good sense of humour.

Blessed Imbolc to all!

A Sunday Laugh

This is an email that my mother sent to me. Draw your own conclusions.

Men Are Just Happier People:

What do you expect from such simple creatures?

Your last name stays put.

The garage is all yours.

Wedding plans take care of themselves.

Chocolate is just another snack.

You can be President.

You can never be pregnant.

You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.

You can wear NO shirt to a water park.

Car mechanics tell you the truth.

The world is your urinal.

You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.

You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

Same work, more pay.

Wrinkles add character.

Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100.

People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.

New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.

One mood all the  time.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.

You know stuff about tanks.

A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.

You can open all your own  jars.

You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

If someone forgets to invite you,

He or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is  $8.95 for a three-pack.

Three pairs of shoes are more than enough..

You almost never have strap problems in public.

You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes..

Everything on your face stays its original color.

The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.

You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life.

One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.

You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.

You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.

You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives

On December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

Who governs the world? / Chi governa il mondo?

Early this morning I wanted to hang out my washing on the balcony. This time instead of a small defenceless bird which I had found on Friday, I now find a belligerent locust, that was already quite nervous due to my cat’s vexations.

Well I start thinking on how to work out a way to keep myself and the locust safe.
In that precise moment the door bell rings. Jehovah witnesses.

“Dear madam we would like to ask you a question”
“Yes?”
“Who is governing the world is this precise moment?”
Really? Well I was going to answer:
A locust in my balcony…because I would like to hang out my washing but can’t!

With Age comes Wisdom / Con l'Età arriva la Saggezza

A guy is 70 years old and loves to fish. He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say:

“Pick me up!”

He looked around and couldn't see any one. He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice
say again:

“Pick me up!”

He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.

The man said: “Are you talking to me?”

The frog said:
“Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because I will be your bride!”

'The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up, carefully, and placed it in his front breast pocket.

Then the frog said:
“What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said? I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride.”

He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said:

“Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog. With age comes wisdom!”

P.S. Sincerely, I do not know if I want this kind of wisdom…maybe because I’m too young to understand and appreciate!!!

“Prendimi!”
