An Impetuous Spring Equinox / Un Equinozio di Primavera Avventato

An Impetuous Spring Equinox
Here we are at the Spring Equinox or Ostara or astrologically speaking when the Sun crosses over the 0 degree of Aries. (20-03-2017, 11:28 UTC+1)
By many cultures this has always been seen as a special moment. The day and the night are equal. The Earth axis is perfectly balanced for three days.
It is also one of those days when astrologers look at the moment of the exact ingress of the Sun in Aries to gauge the weather for the next 6 months, or at least the next 3.
Although usually Spring is a time to initiate things, this year it feels a bit of “let’s wait for better times”.
Why am I saying so?
Well for starters the two great benefics of the sky, that is the two planets that bring things that we usually like, Venus and Jupiter, are retrograde (from the Earth point of view they seem to go backwards in motion). Which means they are shouting out for attention.
To add salt to injury Venus is in Aries, that means she is in detriment, which means she does not function very well in Aries.
At the Spring Equinox, Venus is combust the Sun,…which is not a good thing either…well just imagine you have been for many hours under the hot summer Sun and you have a heatstroke…you really do not function well don’t you?
Mars is in Taurus. Traditionally speaking, Mars brings stuff we do not usually like, and in Taurus he is not in a good functioning position either.
Mars in Taurus answers to Venus in Aries. They have exchanged houses, not houses of their likings but at least they can communicate in a special manner about their sufferings.
Moon in Sagittarius is conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, we feel restricted in how to nurture ourselves.
In the chart we have 5 planets in fire, 1 in earth, and 1 in air. That is a lot of fire with no water…
All the planets in the chart answer to retrograde Venus in Aries with a heatstroke…
What am I saying is that there is a lot of fire that answers to a single planet that is not happy in the position it is in. An unhappy captain might not always make good decisions.
If you really need to initiate something wait until next Saturday when Venus is cazimi, that is she is exactly in the centre of the Sun…well just imagine the queen sitting lovingly on the King’s throne, or pillow talk and you get the image.
After that Venus will continue her journey back into Pisces…where at least she is quite happy and let’s off the hook some planets of the chart.
However I will still proceed with caution, she and Jupiter are still retrograde.
This boils down to: yes Spring has come but it will not be a stroll down the park lane.

(Photo taken by me. It reminded me of Mercury, Venus and the Sun, hanging out together in close proximity in Aries).

Marte è in Toro.

Ostara - Spring Equinox 2016

The Sun has just entered Aries. My cat, Puzzy, my Soul guardian, in his infinite wisdom decided to remind me this morning, at exactly 05:30 CET, when the Sun was at zero degrees Aries.
I woke up to a whole orchestra of birds chirping and stars dancing to the early dawn. They felt as if they were saying,

“Come on Ostara has come.
She is back.
A new turn has started.
You can leave your Winter retreat.
It is time to act.
Find your child, take her by the hand,
into the fields full of infant grass.
Wet her feet with the Spring dew.
Dance to the Birds,
and the Stars in the Sky.
Touch the newborns of Mother Earth,
feel the Goddess in their heartbeat,
look into their eyes,
and go beyond.
There is the Web of Life.
Grandmother Spider is weaving in and out.
All is connected.
Enjoy,
Live,
Laugh,
for you are part of Creation,
And Mother Earth is taking care of you.
You are never alone.
Laugh my child because you are loved”

Blessed Ostara to you and yours!

Blessed be!

Ostara 2012?

This morning my alarm clock rang at exactly 6:15am at the same time as the Spring Equinox entered the Northern hemisphere.
Ostara was here and I have to confess I felt dread.
Yes you read well dread.
Spring means change, spring means life, spring means longer days and shorter nights.
Spring means the joy of life, of movement, of looking ahead with the promise of better things.... and Spring means all chaos will come back near the sea with music till late at night and my sleepless nights.
I have been blocking everything in my life.
Some days ago I would have said I feel blocked but now I am fully aware that it is me that I am blocking myself to move on, to press that gas and get myself out of the rut.
I am blocking everything out of fear. Fear of change.
As a good Virgo I love my routines, my plans, my comfort zone of knowing things will proceed in a certain way. As a rising sign Aquarius this situation is too tight for my freedom of thought.
That part of me that wants change, keeping a status quo for the simple reason of keeping things in situations I (the Virgo) can somehow control, is not actually what the I (Aquarius) is happy about. So inner conflict is a daily staple food which is ruining my health.
Seems that Mercury, Mars and Saturn retrograde have finally succeeded in passing the message. Mercury has claimed my mobile yesterday evening. Strangely enough I was sort of prepared. I had nearly everything backed up except my latest photos.
Why all this fear of change? I am not new to change. I had ample change in life and at the end of the day, looking backwards, it has always happened for my best. Why am I so resentful to embrace the change that is knocking at the door?
Most probably because as I've learnt from the other changes in my life, change comes with a price, of loosing a situation, of loosing someone, of changing work, of changing house, of changing country. Because once I open my heart to change there is no way of stopping what is the eventual natural dynamics of the Universe.
Spring summons change. Ostara is here with all of her Renewal Magic. Am I ready to humbly embrace it?
