Your child and daughter / La tua bambina e figlia

Sometimes writing is the only means to come to terms with emotions, with facts of life that are too painful to be kept inside just as a concept. Our body becomes a too small a container to withhold all the outflow of emotions held back, never expressed or even conceptualised. Writing helps pointing down the ache and ease its letting go.

I keep coming back and forth to my mother. She’s a diamond with a thousand and one faces that impregnates with its light my temporary reality, my way of thinking, my way of dealing with life. It is a life-long process dividing myself from herself. A life-long process of understanding who I am.

A life-long process in coming to terms with a void her presence has left in my existence. An emptiness of a daughter grown up to an adult that unconsciously still yearns for that mother that refused her love and understanding.

So here I am today in front of this undeniable truth, standing on my two feet, pinpointing the emptiness with words, encapsulating it in phrases so to delimitate and understand, forgive and bless and out of nothing create.

I forgive you mother even if I think you never accepted or tolerated me as your child and daughter.

I forgive you mother even if I still think you never accepted or tolerated me as your child and daughter.

I forgive you mother even if I will never stop thinking that you never accepted or tolerated me as your child and daughter.

(Letting go by Wings of Sorrow)

Ritorno sempre a mia madre.

Here in this place in time called present / Qui in questo luogo nel tempo chiamato presente

Dawn is breaking.

What a peaceful sensation waking up with the light filtering through the curtains and the birds twittering their way through the trees.

No human activity, no shouts and yells, just a car now and then travelling smoothly on the seafront. The sea seems back to its usual sluggish up and down motion. Streets lights just turned off. Crows keep cawing at each other from antenna tops.

I fear to breath lest I disturb this vibrant silence I feel surrounded with, where every noise seems to finally rest.

And before life’s hustle carries me away I just want to sit and think and write.

Here in this place in time called present, is the only true instance I really have. This is where my being is, where my decisions are made.

How difficult it is to remain anchored in the present and let go.

Let go of the past. It has served its purpose, bringing me here where I am, to live my life. No need to hold it tight. It will only end up drowning my essence, impeding my growth.

Let go of all shackles. Sever all strings, soar above, feel the wind and ride the wave. Having faith that whatever happens I have the insight to wisely come to a decision.

Let go of my constant want to control. To be in command of all things, situations and persons. A hereditary scheme of life that I’ve been taught since childhood but to which I’m fervently trying to unlearn.

I let go of all….to have the power to be with myself, because it is to me that I own my life.
So now I decide to live this day with joy, with avidity. To live in this country, in this house and to be with my loved one.

I choose freedom because whatever happens I have me.
I choose to live my life, today for today…

Tomorrow …..well is another day!

L’alba.

Scelgo la libertà perché qualsiasi cosa succede io ho me stessa.
