45th Year around the Sun / 45 anno intorno al Sole

It has been a long long year. One of those years that I will remember because I survived every second of it.  I bit every morsel of life to keep sane…in fact, I lost two teeth in the process and other dental problems.
There were days, and a long series of those days, where waking up in the morning and face life was just too much.
Too much to bear for pain, confusion, ill health and uncertainty.
There were moments when it was just too much to bear. All the sweetness of life had vanished. I was living trying to put on micro step forward and finding myself two big steps backwards.
How I am still here to write this I do not know.
For sure I owe much to my mentor Helen Tremeer, who was there by my side even at very odd hours of the day or night.
As an astrologer, I could see the transits. Astrology can give a rational idea. Something to grip to. However, it never takes the pain away. That is something we have to go through.
I remember when Helen and I discussed the transits involved in this long dark period.
That was more than 4 years ago.
I remember I kept on saying during these years, “Helen I do not know if I can make it”.
Gloom, darkness and despair can kill.
In this last year, I crossed many bridges. Did things I never thought I would ever had the courage to do. I kept on believing in my passion although I did question the planets what the F..k they were trying to do.
I have grown as a person (and not only in weight) and as an Astrologer because of those transits, because of those pains. The transits are not completely done but something has shifted and I want to grasp to that feeling.
I am going in my 45th year. My Solar Return is on my actual birthday, that is today 30-08-2017 but a bit earlier just for the afternoon tea. I am entering my 10th house profection, in my case ruled by Mars, using whole signs.
So thank you, Venus, …it was really a Venusian year in all senses (pun intended).
And Hail to you Mars! You and I have many things to work out (pun intended).

This is a song that came into my mind as soon as I woke up this morning. I am taking it as a good omen.

A pulse-cadenced life / Una vita ritmata ad impulsi

I do not know why but this news struck me: 140 years ago the first traffic light (using a gas lantern) was devised and we spend roughly 5 years of our lifetime waiting for the traffic lights to change.
Have you ever thought how many weird things you do while you wait for that blessed red light to change?
The following are only a few examples (feel free to add more): change cd, put on the headset, look out for an unknown road on the street atlas, put your make up on, drink, search for apparently lost items in the car, observe the nearby drivers (a very peculiar species I dare say)…
But my all time favourite is to be able for those long seconds (or minutes depends on the traffic light) to look in my loved one’s eyes without putting my life at stack.
What can I say, 5 years of forced meditation, of crossroads, lost or found opportunities… A symbol of a pulse-cadenced life where brief snapshots taken at intersections eventually become bookmarks of our existence.

Happy Birthday dearest Dad.

We rarely talk you and I. But there are some things I would like to say on this special day.
With pain and time I came slowly to realise that you have chosen your life. You will never change nor will you ever take part in any mum-daughter dynamics. It is your way of dealing with life. You even got sick due to it. I can’t do anything about it.

I’m not saying I will ever forget how many times you were invisible at home, or how many times you chose not to defend your daughter just to stay on mum’s side. I do not know if you do it out of shear love or because you don’t know otherwise. Whatever the reason dad, your daughter missed your presence. Someone who could defend and protect her.

But now I’m growing up and I’m dealing quite well with life although I still do a lot of mistakes. I’m learning first of all to cope with myself, understand my needs and act upon them.

Dearest Dad, your daughter has grown up. And what I am trying to say is that I am here. If ever you should need me I am here, you have all my support. If you should ever need a shoulder to lean on….Dad I am here.

Take care.

Your daughter.

Tua Figlia.

Happy Birthday Gael / Buon Compleanno Gael

Happy Birthday dearest Gael.

A wish that life will always smile at you and when it does a little bit less you’ll know how to pull your sleeves up, look in your heart and understand which way you should travel.

A wish that in you life you’ll be always surrounded with friends that care for you and that solitude takes you on the road to your roots.

A wish of many years to be and that these years are full of paths that walk you towards wisdom.

A wish that every day lived is a pearl that you add to your soul and on your face those special wrinkles of who wisely knew how to seize the day.
