Today I am really feeling lucky / Oggi mi sento veramente fortunata

Today I am really feeling fortunate and happy. A dream has come true and I sincerely didn’t see it happen.
The new minister for Equal rights, Mara Crafagna has just said that she will not endorse this year’s Gay pride because gays in Italy are completely integrated in the Italian society and so do not need her precious help.
Good! Well done for the rapidity with which everything has been done.
So now I can presume that if tomorrow I tell the company I work for that I am gay, that I need a permit to assist my sick partner or matrimonial leave, (without leaving the country to do and even so Italian law doesn’t recognize same-sex marriage contracted abroad). If in doing all this I might become their laughing stock, I know that I have an Italian government that stands by my side.
So I presume that from tomorrow, since integration means equal rights, I can marry whichever sex I decide on. I know that if I want to I can adopt children and these children can have either mum and dad, dad and dad, mum and mum.
So I know that if unlucky my life partner is hospitalised I am treated for who I am, her/his partner and I have all the rights to be informed on what is happening including decisional power.
So I know now that if I am really unlucky and my life-partner dies I have the right to stay in his/her house, inherit his/her belongings as well as his/her pension.
Thank you Minister Crafagna, you have succeeded where others have only dreamt to arrive. We are the envy of all the gay communities all over the world. We are second to none including Spain and Holland.
Thank you. Thank you very much.

Grazie veramente.
